Our 500ml sugarcane bowls with no lid are made of sugarcane pulp, feature a wide rim, and are suitable for various fast food menu items. Tight-knit fibres make these bowls suitable for hot foods such as ramen, soups, and curries, and they are certified for home and commercial compost. Part of our sugarcane range, these bowls were designed to help tackle the vast amounts of plastic packaging used in takeaway food deliveries, minimising the environmental impact of convenience culture.
If you require a bowl with a lid, opt for SKU: SP-B24-N which is available in 700mL and 960mL.

End of Life
Industrial Composting
Our sugarcane tableware range is certified compostable to the AS 4736 and ASTM D6400 standards for industrial composting, which requires the compostable product to:
1) disintegrate after 12 weeks, and
2) completely biodegrade after six months. (This means that 90% or more of the material will have been converted to CO2. The remaining share is converted into water and biomass – i.e. valuable compost.)
Home Composting
Our sugarcane tableware range is certified compostable to the AS 5810 standards for home composting, which requires a product to:
1) 100% biodegrade into completely non-toxic by-products, and
2) disintegrate within 180 days. Not more than 10% of the original dry weight may be found in a > 2mm screen fraction
3) ultimate biodegradability (90% absolute biodegradation, or 90% with a suitable reference substrate within 12 months.)
